Au revoir, Paris

I have added the lively 9th arrondissement, on the Right Bank, to my list of favorite places in Paris. I found a great restaurant that I like so much I went there twice on this trip; I spent time window-shopping at small boutiques with clothes and accessories designed by the owners; I entered for the first time the famous “à La mère de famille” candy store, founded in 1761; and strolled in the covered Passage Verdeau, one of several mid-19th century pedestrian shopping “malls.” There are restaurants in the Passage, bookstores, antique shops, art galleries; and, like much of the 9th arrondissement, it’s a great place for people-watching.

One un-related photo I have to add, of another favorite that I visit each time I’m here: Marcel Proust’s cork-lined bedroom, as reconstructed at the Carnavalet Museum – the wonderful (and free) museum of the history of Paris:

  1. Wonderful photos. I take it this was your last day in the City of Lights?
